Tutors’ credibility as successful graduates and proximity in age to their learners equips them well to serve both as academic tutors, personal mentors, and role models. While enriching the education of school learners, this role also provides tutors themselves with new skills, the opportunity to give back to their communities and a sense of value. Training and supervision are offered regularly as is the opportunity to reflect on learner engagement.
